Since 1988 "Wood 'N Nichols" Mars, Pa. (Lois and husband Gordon Nichols) have been making unique, heirloom collectible creations from Cypress Knees --(Roots from the cypress tree). Their one of a kind collection varies from Santa Claus (Traditional and Old World), Angels, Wizards, Snowmen, Carolers, Wise Men, to Witches, Ghosts and everything in between.
Lois says, "My pieces are unusual in size and shape, as well as character. Each one is an original. Employing the roots for my artistry allows the collector to add a little piece of nature to their decor." Lois has experimented with many different painting mediums, but it was her love for the great outdoors and all things natural that drew her to the rustic beauty of the Cypress tree root.
Wood 'N Nichols is also known for their hand-turned wooden Americana and Holiday creations. "My husband is amazing, he can take a solid block of wood and turn it into the most perfect and unique canvas for me to paint."
Last but certainly not least are the barn wood creations. "It always saddens us when a terrible storm destroys another one of Pennsylvania's old barns...but we try to salvage and recycle. We have also seen much new home development in Northern PA, so as they tear down these old barns we "rescue" as much as we can to save history. All of our Barn Wood Creations come complete with a letter of authenticity."
As you will see upon entering the site these barn wood items and many other forms of "the jolly holiday man" are also featured!

Every year the children come far and wide to the Wood'N Nichols residence to celebrate a very special Birthday for, "Shawnee"!
